This evening was the regularly scheduled meeting of the Greenpoint Library Friends group, and I was elected treasurer! I'm honored that my fellow members have welcomed me to the executive board of the group.

The Brooklyn Public Library system is facing potentially devastating budget cuts this year, but you can help. Learn how you can provide books, media and other materials to whichever BPL branch you choose.
Saturday, April 3, 2010 - Book and Bake Sale
Following the success of our October Book and Bake Sale (we raised over $1,000 with which we bought new bike racks for the library!), we'll be holding another one on April 3rd. While you wait for your chance to score some cheap books, you can do some early Spring cleaning and bring your unwanted (gently used) books to the Greenpoint Branch at 107 Norman Ave during business hours (see below). Make sure you let them know it's for the April 3rd Book Sale!
Stay tuned for details on this great event that showcases locally created art at the library in a juried show and raises money for the Greenpoint Public Library. We'll need artists to donate work and everyone to come out and shop!
